Treat data, print, placement and verification as one logistics process
A pallet or case labeller must receive the correct data, print a durable symbol, place the label on an accessible face and prove the failed-label response. A successful print alone does not confirm that the correct logistics unit left the line.
Data ownership
Identify the source of SSCC, GTIN, destination, batch and quantity fields, including acknowledgement and recovery after a communications fault.
Verification and reject
Define whether the system needs a read check, formal symbol verification, data comparison, label-presence check, stop, retry or manual quarantine.
